Most compressed air piping systems, like the manufacturing facilities they exist in, have grown over the years and sometimes rapidly.
When new production machines are required, or relocated, it becomes necessary to get machines back into production as quickly as possible. This means that most air connections are done rapidly and with little thought to air flow or pressure drop inherent in the design.
Costs also become a factor in new piping systems, systems are usually designed with low cost in mind. When plany expansion is required, quite often, smaller diameter piping cannot support several years of increased demand. Striking a balance between effective engineering design and long term effectiveness is our goal at Airmax.
Many compressed air systems operate at higher than necessary pressures to overcome line losses in piping. We make it our goal to match supply with demand. Although over-pressurizing the system can fulfill the requirement to deliver power it can waste up to 40% of the applied energy. This contributes to false loading of compressors, which can equate to thousands of dollars in unnecessary power consumption.
Our pressure profile consists of installation of pressure transmitters at key locations in the piping that are data logged by the second and down loaded into real time graphs for interpretation.
Isolation and correction of piping issues contributing to pressure loss will allow you to turn off compressors and keep them off!
