The true cost of producing compressed air is often not realized. By installing current transducers on the compressors we record the amperage draw of each unit. This is equated to the power consumption of each compressor, which translates into the cost of running the units, and also the average cost per cubic foot of compressed air generated at your facility.
Recording these energy trends as they occur in relation to the other events in the system allows us to see how the compressors' energy demand changes due to changes in flow and pressure. This data displays when and how long each compressor is loading and unloading or modulating in response to demand. Often there is no control over the compressors and each one is operating at partial load resulting in substantial wasted energy.
